To get the most out of your Gradebook in SchoolWise there are some options you can setup to help you manage and analyse assessments.

Let's get started!

How to access the settings screen

Make sure you are on the Dashboard and click the Settings button. This will display the settings screen for the class.

You will see a list of learners displayed along with some options next to each one.

Setting the options

The options that are available to you are;

  1. Subject Level

  2. Target Grade

  3. Differentiation Band

Subject Level

This is the subject level the learner is taking for the subject. You can change the subject level for each learner by selecting the option from the drop-down menu. The subject levels that are available for you to select from are determined by the Subject Manager. These are managed by the SchoolWise Administrator or by a member of Management.

Note: You can also set the subject level for all learners by clicking the Level column heading. This enables you to set the subject level for every learner in the class in one go rather than having to set one at a time.

Target Grade

You can set a target % grade for each learner by entering the value next to their name. You can then benchmark the learners' performance against this target grade on the report screens. This is useful in setting expectations or when trying to decide on a subject level.

You can view or benchmark against the target grade by using the Options button on any of the report screens.

Note: The target grade can also be displayed in the academic tracking reports

Differentiation Band

The differentiation band is automatically set if your school uses CAT4 testing. This is an initial value based on each learner's score on the test. You can adjust this value without affecting any other subject. It is unique to your class for that learner.

The name of the bands and their description is set in the CAT4 section in the Learner Support area of SchoolWise. Only those members of your management, leadership and care teams have the ability to change the name and values of these bands.

You can use them as an aid on report screens to differentiate each learner when analysing the performance of a class or individual learner.
