Sometimes you want to add a follow-up note or capture an event for an existing note. You could have rang a parent for example and captured a note on the call. Now you're going to meet with them and would like to add a follow-up note to the phone call. There may be future follow-ups too.
This is where linked notes come into play - where you can add a new note but link it to a previous note. This way, all the notes are stored together in a chain or trail so you can easily refer back to them without having to search through a long list.
Let's take a look at how this works.
Open an existing note from a Learner Profile and click on the Create a linked note button located on the top right of the window.
This will open the Linked Note window. This allows you to create a new note but link it to the original note. The original note is displayed on the right-hand side of the window.
Complete the details of the new note as you would normally when adding a note. You will see the new note stored with the original note. Linked notes are clearly shown with the blue LINKED text.
Note: you can add as many linked notes as you like up to 10 in a single chain. The most recent note will be shown at the top. Permission on notes will still be preserved.
