How to send a message to a year group in Learner Support

If you need to use Learner Support to send a message to some or all learners in a year group this article will show you how

There are times when you need to send a message to some or all learners in a year group. Learner Support makes this task easy by having the year groups built for you or the ability to select learners within a year group.

This task is performed from the All Learners screen. This can be accessed from the Learner Support menu on the right or from the main seearch screen.

Sending a message to an entire year group

Click on the Add Filter button and make sure you are filtering the specific year group you want to send the message to.

Then from the Message button click on the year group.

Complete your message and then click Send.


Sending a message to a selection of learners in a year group

Note: if you are a year head or tutor, you will only see the list of learners that are assigned to you. Therefore, when you search the list of learners in a year group, you may be restricted to a smaller list in Learner Support.

Filter the year group by clicking the Add Filter button.

This will display the first 20 learners from the selected Year Group. To display all the learners, click on the selector and change it to All.

You can then check the box next to each learner that you want to include in the message.

Now click on the Message button and choose the option All / Selected.

The list of recepients in the message will be limited to your selection.

Complete your message and click the Send button.
