When you are adding a new gradebook there are times when you want to use a grading scale other than a percentage. This article will show you how to select different grading scales. Let's jump right in.

First, we need to add a new Gradebook so make sure you are on the Dashboard. Then click on the Add Gradebook button and select either one of the options.

With the add Gradebook screen displayed, simply click on the column heading for the grade with should have Percentage displayed.

This will display the Grade scale selection screen. Simply select the grading system from the available options in the drop-down menu.

In this example, I have selected the points grading system and set the maximum number of points a learner can receive to 20. Once you have selected your grading system and set any options click on the Update button to apply your changes.

This will update the grade field with the grading scale you selected.

Note: the grading scales available for you to select from are based on the cycle of your class. Different options will be available in different cycles. Percentage and points are common between all cycles.
